"I did it! I did it! I did it!" ~Nim~ was an ecstatic little dragon, having flown to attack her very first dragon... and came back with a small pouch full of gold. I smiled, knowing that this was but the beginning for this young wyrm. She quickly wrapped her body around that leather sack, and I looked out into the horizon for her next target. Soon enough, a suitable target emerged... and from the look of her golden sheen and worn look, she was much older and richer than little ~Nim~... "Baby, Baby Nim! It is time to go. I found you a target little one!" One with much more gold than the last. This caused little ~Nim~ to relax, after having constricted herself around her newly acquired gold... From the intent look in her eyes, I knew she was ready... I beckoned with my gauntlet, and showed her who I was referring to... and with but a glance, little ~Nim~ was off and after the elder wyrm...

Lightning crackled across the sky and the air was heavy with impending moisture. ~Nim~ flew towards her erstwhile target, with gold on her mind. The air beat against her and she felt the difficulty of staying in the air, and she dove towards the cave entrance in which that glittering pile of gold lay. Suddenly she felt a clamp of sharp, sharp teeth on her lower foot. With a quick twist, the elder dragon snapped her foot as if it were a mere twig... The pain shot through her mind quick and heavy, and the cruel cliff side offered her no relief as she slammed into it and slide fifty feet to a pile of rubble below. Bloody and broken, ~Nim~ struggled to retain her life. She regretted ever having left the warm comfort of her cave... her salty tears not aiding the pain that she felt. She quickly took stock of her injuries... And stretched out her wings... Thank god they were not injured. Painfully she rolled onto her stomach and clawed herself into a position in which she could take flight. Before long, she was in flight once again... the cold air somewhat numbing her injuries, she came back to her senses slowly... and it was not long before she saw that lone dragon struggling to cover its cave entrance with a boulder. She swooped down...

She swooped down into a steep dive towards her target, and he came up quickly at her with a devastating counterstrike that she had not prepared for. The strike bit deeply into Nim's flesh and she nearly fell out of the sky, but she gritted her teeth and kicked sharply at the other dragon. The moisture collecting on each of the dragons, and torrent of rain started to pour from the sky as they rolled in the air, and bit and slashed at each others vulnerable flesh. Lightning lit up the dark sky, and her opponent saw his chance... with a deft movement of his claw, he struck at her weak underbelly, already severely bruised from her last encounter. ~Nim~ howled in pain and dropped from the sky once again, only managing to avoid that hard, hard fall that she had had not to long before...

Nope, hopefully the one she is on now will go better... she is willing to take a few lumps along the way.

~Nim~ had a hard time flying back to her cave with the extensive bruising to her side, and broken leg... despite her colorful scales, she looked to be more black and blue than her noble coloring would have conveyed... As she fell outside the cave, and clawed her way up the steep cliffside, she swore to herself that she would make more of an effort in picking her opponents... they had to be wealthier, and weaker... they had to have demonstrable weakness... but how would she ensure this? She pondered this question as she slumped her broken form into her cave in front of her worried dragon trainer. She had known something was wrong for some time... ~Nim~ should not have been gone so long... It was a long while before she was well again, but that gave ~Nim~ time to think... to roll the battles over in her mind again and again... what had she done wrong? How could have she done better? She had made some crucial mistakes... ones such as underestimating her opponents... where had they gotten the armor? The claws? She needed these things if she was going to be successful in her domination of this world.

Before long, Nim's color had been restored, and she swiftly flew out of her cave, eager to make up for her recent losses... She saw a few dragons, but she had learned a few lessons and picked one more carefully... circled, and examined him. Her eyes saw the inexperience at defense, the sloppiness of form, and general slow nature... Could this dragon have gold, she wondered? She circled around the mountain and flew low, not bearing her soft underbelly to any potential surprise attacks. when she saw the dragon, he had foolishly placed his back to her. She picked up the speed, and knocked him to the ground. He fell hard, and twisted around, but not before Nim had rolled and placed a talon to his chin. He staggered back, clearly not prepared for such a quick response and ~Nim~ secured the small bag that he called his hoard. When she returned, she vowed to go after a richer target next time...

Great dragon picture.

You can use the little bit of gold to buy some bandages and ointment for his wounds...

~Nim~ sighed deeply, replaying the battle in her mind... she had attacked a wealthier target, one that did not look like it could defend itself adequately... and the battle had gone well at first. She had turned and twisted in her own defense, and made some swift and decisive blows against her foe, but that damn boulder was something she couldnt predict... it was so close... and yet she went home empty handed... yet again. THREE LOSSES! UNACCEPTABLE! She wanted gold, she NEEDED it... Getting up off the floor, she resolved to go out again and again until she got it. She was slowly learning... the more gold a dragon had, the more likely they were to be skilled and able to afford those tools which made her more likely to lose. But she was learning... and she would win eventually... of that she swore.
