How long do you honestly think people have been complaining in MY ear?

Objective? Hardly. But I digress.

And you'll have to pardon my confusion, because I really was just trying to figure out what you were trying to ask for or demonstrate. If your ear is overwhelmed with complaints about PD1-2.5 then I think your posts are to the point, though I think you should be a little bit more direct with those that have your ear by telling them that LFG is moving in other directions (Craig's words, not mine) especially since you seem to have spoken to Craig and Brian about these matters already. That is, instead of posting about how bad things are - because realistically things will remain bad as those new directions are pursued, though it does seem that they plan on launching PD1.5.

On the other hand if your own TRUE motives were related to how the community might be corralled to help with new projects and create new social opportunities through LFG then I maintain that you should have posted on that directly as opposed to voicing concerns over forum and PD related activity. "How can we help with new stuff," always sounds better than, "old stuff sucks."

And the problems of our community, in that we have several clan communities behind the scenes who occasionally post opinions here, is that these new directions exist. Involvement of this community, such as it relates to any new apps, I believe, will be approached at the appropriate time. Until they are ready to beta test, why risk involving a lot of people and have the idea slip into the wrong hands?

Bert, if you are really more excited about new projects, maybe you should have posted about that and opportunities to help for forumers instead of complaining about all that is wrong with PD.

I want to post something in the Dev's defence and ask a few general questions.

They are currently in development. And with PD2, development was all very hushed and private. Input had been gathered from the forum in terms of things that people wanted, and many of those things were implemented. Then when the game went live there were more changes made according to how players felt.

My understanding of the PD1.5/Zoo update has always been that the dev's were seeking to put a "new twist on a classic." PD1 itself is fine, and does not need updates and to my knowledge players aren't asking for any. PD2.5 was/is intended as a fix to all that was missing from PD2. Forumers cried foul and the dev's responded by promising PD2.5, presumably with lots of what was being asked for.

So are the complaints directed at the lack of input, response, and fixes going into PD2? Because PD 2.5 has already been promised, and many of what has been asked for will likely be featured there...  Or, are complaints directed at the lack of input and response via suggestions for PD2.5? Because a) Craig seems to be working on PD1.5/Zoo almost exclusively so I can understand if responses and consideration for 2.5 related shtuffs are delayed or lacking and b) what kind of input are we expecting given that the creation of 2 was a closed door process and c) presumably many of our suggestions WILL go into 2.5 when Craig (who I might add seems to be working by himself) moves on to that project.

If complaints are just based around the "we want to help, why won't you let us help" mentality, having been relatively close to at least Brian, I feel the devs have always reached out for help when it has been appropriate and seeing as how they have not abandoned these projects completely, I have faith they will do so again.

Lastly, if complaints are simply about developer activity on the forum, and simple yes or no responses to stuff being posted, I would argue that given that it is Craig by himself, that his time would be best served doing exactly what he doing, plodding along getting what he can done in terms of coding.

And instead of replying/egging him on, many of you 'regulars' might make better use of the report button so that the proper authorities can deal with this.  The parade of commentary only runs dry when you take his audience away.

IF there will be a way to "unlock" extra turns, I feel that, in actuality, it might be better that doing so should be extremely EASY, and nearly intuitive, meaning that MORE players are likely to get these "bonus turns" faster, and thus NOT have it cause irreparable damage to casual players.  (Perhaps a small percentage of the turns could still be difficult to get - but it should be MAYBE 1-2 out of 20)

This way of awarding them also likely leaves nearly every player with the feeling that they are succeeding and may entice them to stick around long term.

Taking the connection to Undead away completely, and keeping in mind that some of the new elements (and their abilities) likely need tweaking, I see two abilities resulting from this discussion:

1. Deals more damage/takes more damage (caused by a successful hit, or dealing one, I don't think it matters that much). This could be set up in several ways. a) Everyone deals/takes more damage with some sort of advantage to the side with the ability. For example, the one with the elemental attunement gets +10% while each other dragon in the battle gets 1/4th the power, so +2.5% each. Which looks like this:

Participant in combat (-->)AttackerDefenderAssistant
Dragon with the ability (v)

Basically, if you have the ability, you get +10% (or +X%) while the others get +2.5% (or +X%/4).  If two have the ability, each gives themselves the +10% and the others +%2.5, so each one with the ability ends up with +12.5% (or +X%1.25) and the odd one out gets +5% (or X%/2). If all three have it, each gets +15% (or +X%1.5).

2. Strength sap (think the effect of poison, plus stealing of vamp).  When you hit or are hit (or both), your opponent loses strength (-Y%) and you gain strength (+Y%). Standard decrease of 20% per round applies.

My intention with the flight home time was to avoid the problem Fangle discribes.  That being said, if the time is 24 hours at the start, during which you are open to attack as you 'prepare' to leave, then you could simply have the cancel button at the end return you to your cave immediately.  You could even time the 24 hour preparation as you yourself are preparing to leave so that you can monitor and make potioning and assisting arrangements while you are still grounded.
